Rebecca Stalcup, Arkansas Academy of Dance Director/ ArkansasFestival Ballet Artistic Director

A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Rebecca Miller Stalcup received her early classical ballet training from Lady Leah LaFargue Hathaway and also studied with Dallas Metropolitan Ballet. She began her performing career with Lake Charles Civic Ballet and later moved to Little Rock to continue her professional dance career. She has danced soloist and principal roles in well-known ballets, including Giselle, Graduation Ball, Gaite Parisienne, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Les Sylphide, Nutcracker, Firebird, La Boutique Fantastique, Pas de Quatre, and Coppélia. 

 

Ms. Miller Stalcup has staged and directed numerous ballets, including Peter Pan, Peter and the Wolf, Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia, and Les Patineurs.

 

As director of Arkansas Academy of Dance since 2000, Ms. Miller Stalcup demonstrates a unique ability to instill a joy for dance and formal ballet etiquette in her students. She is an acclaimed guest teacher at ballet companies and schools of dance throughout the region. 

 

Ms. Miller Stalcup holds a B.A. in Psychology.
